What Is Percy Jackson Season 3 About?
Season 3 is the first on-screen adaptation of The Titan’s Curse. After a mission to rescue the half-blood siblings Nico and Bianca di Angelo goes wrong, Annabeth is taken. The goddess Artemis sends Percy and his friends on a quest to save her, and Thalia becomes a much bigger part of the story. Disney’s synopsis says the Great Prophecy looms over the season: one demigod child of the “Big Three” will either raise Olympus or bring it to ruin.
The villain is the Titan Atlas, played by Holt McCallany, and the show also adds the goddesses Hera, Demeter and Aphrodite to its cast of gods. Percy and Thalia’s uneasy friendship is a main thread, which follows directly from the end of Season 2.
Before You Watch: What Happened in Season 2
This section recaps the Season 2 finale, “The Fleece Works Its Magic Too Well”, and has spoilers for that season only.
| Storyline | Where it ended in Season 2 |
| Camp Half-Blood | Percy used the Golden Fleece to heal the tree that protects the camp, which restored its barrier after the attack. |
| Thalia | The tree revealed Thalia, and a burst of lightning knocked her and Percy unconscious. |
| The lie about Thalia | Chiron revealed that the story of Zeus turning Thalia into a tree after she sacrificed herself was false. Zeus struck her down after she refused to fight for the gods once the Furies had told her the Great Prophecy. |
| The coming war | In a vision, Poseidon told Percy that war with the Titans is inevitable. |
