Plot of Gangubai Kathiawadi
The upcoming film is a crime-drama based biography of Gangubai, a madame in red light area of Kamathipura. The story circulates around the journey of a simple girl Ganga raised into a sex worker as Gangubai, the Queen of Kamathipura. Ganga runs away with her father’s accountant Ramnik Lal to start a new life as an actor. But, unfortunately, Ganga finds herself in a trap of Kamathipura whorehouse, sold to the red light area by her lover. Accepting her fate, she grows up to be the voice of thousands of sex workers and struggles to get women’s empowerment.
Throughout her life, she worked for women empowerment of sex workers and wanted a normal life for their children too. The story reveals the emotional side of sex workers living in Kamathipura and their challenges to survive in this brutal world.
Release Date of GangbaiKathiawadi
With a budget of Rs. 55 crore, the film is planned to enter theatres on February 25th. It is in the buzz that the movie will release in two languages i.e. Hindi & Telugu.
