The Battles are under way on The Voice Season 30. The first Battle aired on October 6, and the full Battles premiere is on Monday, October 12 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, with episodes streaming on Peacock the next day. In each Battle two artists from the same team sing a duet, the coach picks a winner, and every coach has one Steal to rescue a losing artist.

How the Battles Work on The Voice Season 30

• Coaches pair the artists. Each coach picks two artists from their own team to sing the same song as a duet.
• Battle Advisors help in rehearsals. They give both artists feedback on the song, the performance and the stage presence.
• The coach picks one winner. The other coaches can say whom they would keep, but only the artist’s own coach decides, and the winner moves on.
• One Steal per coach. A coach can use their Steal to take a losing artist from another team, usually someone they wanted in the blind auditions.
• Seven artists per team move on. That is six Battle winners and one stolen artist, which makes 28 artists going into Cut Week.

What Comes After the Battles?

Cut Week replaces the Knockout Rounds. Each coach sends two artists straight to the live shows, five artists on each team compete for one more spot, and America votes one extra artist in, which makes a Top 13. After that come six weeks of live shows and the finale.
