When Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios first announced the plan in May 2025, they set the date as March 12, 2027. What Is The Chosen Season 6 About?
Season 6 follows the last day of Jesus’ life, including his arrest, the trial before the Sanhedrin and the crucifixion, and shows the disciples’ confusion as they scatter. Jenkins has said that most people know the outline of the story but not the reason behind it, and that he wanted a season and a theatrical film that explain it. He has called Season 5 the buildup and Season 6 the biggest season the show has made.
The story picks up where Season 5, The Chosen: Last Supper, left off. That season premiered on Prime Video in June 2025 and ended with the Last Supper and Jesus’ arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.
