She sits alongside regular judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, and she is the mother of Mark Ballas, who dances with Maura Higgins.
How the Horror Movie Night Double Elimination Works
Nobody went home on Dedication Night, so two couples leave on Horror Movie Night and the field drops from 10 couples to eight. Viewer votes are combined with the judges’ scores, as they are every week, and the two couples with the lowest combined result are eliminated. Our Week 6 Dedication Night guide has last week’s scores, and our voting guide has the steps to vote.
Val Chmerkovskiy Returns for Horror Movie Night
Val Chmerkovskiy sat out Dedication Night after BBC Studios suspended him for one week over a social media post about judge Carrie Ann Inaba. He returned to rehearsals with Jenna Dewan on October 21 and is set to dance with her on October 27. Alan Bersten partnered Dewan last week, and they scored 37 out of 40. Read the full story in our Val Chmerkovskiy suspension explainer.
