Bigg Boss Telugu 10: Host, Theme, Launch Date and Everything We Know So Far
Bigg Boss Telugu hasn’t even started its milestone tenth season yet, and it’s already the biggest conversation in Tollywood television circles. Between a freshly released promo, a wave of contestant rumours and a host fee that’s reportedly breaking records, fans have plenty to talk about months before the house even opens. Here’s a clear breakdown of what’s actually confirmed and what’s still speculation. Update: the season is under way. See the Bigg Boss Telugu 10 contestants list, the elimination list and Week 7 nominations and how to vote on JioHotstar.
Nagarjuna Is Back, and the Theme Is “Dasavatharam”
The makers confirmed Nagarjuna Akkineni’s return as host through an official promo, in which he describes Bigg Boss as a kingdom that has won not just battles but millions of hearts. The season’s tagline, “Not a challenge in the game, the game itself is the challenge,” hints at a format shake-up to mark the tenth anniversary. The season’s theme has been revealed as Dasavatharam, a nod to the ten divine avatars, fitting for a landmark tenth edition. The show remains a production of Endemol Shine India under Banijay Entertainment, and it’s expected to stream on JioHotstar alongside its usual Star Maa telecast. One unconfirmed but widely reported detail worth a pinch of salt: Nagarjuna is rumoured to have asked for a fee in the range of ₹40 crore for this season, which would be a record for the franchise if true.
When Will Bigg Boss Telugu 10 Launch?
No official launch date has been announced yet. Industry reports point to a window in late August or the first week of September 2026, roughly in line with the franchise’s usual September start. Some entertainment outlets have floated more specific guesses, like August 30 or September 6, but these are estimates rather than confirmed dates, and Star Maa hasn’t locked anything in publicly as of this writing.
Who Might Enter the House? Nothing Is Confirmed Yet
This is the part where you should read every “leaked contestant list” with some scepticism. The makers haven’t released an official lineup, and different entertainment outlets are circulating noticeably different name lists, which is usually a sign that casting is still fluid. A few names, including Deepika Rangaraju, Uppal Balu, Kalyan and Pallavi Gowda, do show up repeatedly across multiple reports, which makes them worth watching, though none of it is official. Some reports also suggest a mix of social media personalities and television actors this time, alongside the return of Bigg Boss Agnipariksha as a way for “Common Man” contestants to earn a spot, the same route that worked well in Season 9.
A Quick Look Back Before the New Season Begins
Season 9 ended with common contestant Kalyan Padala taking home the trophy and ₹35 lakh in prize money, a result that was widely praised for how it handled the “Common Man vs Celebrity” format. That success is reportedly part of why the makers are considering similar dynamics for Season 10, including talk of past winners returning in a mentor role. If you want the fuller picture of how the Telugu version fits into the larger Bigg Boss franchise across languages, or want a refresher on how the Bigg Boss Telugu Non-Stop spinoff played out, both are worth a look.
What We’re Watching for Next
Three things will move this story forward: an official contestant announcement, a confirmed launch date, and the opening of Agnipariksha auditions for commoners hoping to enter through the public route. None of those have happened yet, so treat everything above as the latest reported buzz rather than the final word. We’ll update this piece the moment Star Maa makes it official.
Which of the rumoured names are you hoping actually makes it into the house? Let us know in the comments.
