What Happened in Kavi Nyx’s Blind Audition

Kavi did not have to wait long. Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine pressed their buttons within moments of her first note, and Riley Green followed soon after. Queen Latifah, whose team was already full, could not turn, so Kavi chose between three coaches.

The feedback was specific. Kelly told her that her approach was purposeful and beautiful and encouraged her to keep it, because it sets her apart. Adam picked out the variety of scales she used and the way she brought Indian music into the song. Riley said her performance was full of personality and expression.

Kavi Nyx and Her Indian Heritage

One of the things that made the audition stand out was how she treated the song. Kavi added runs and riffs to “Wildflower” as a nod to her Indian heritage, and she pointed out that scales are a central part of Indian music. She said she wanted to use the big stage to represent her culture.

She describes her own sound as mostly pop, raw and emotional, with her Indian roots coming through at times.

Why Kavi Nyx Chose Team Kelly

The decision was made long before the chairs turned. Kavi is a big fan of Kelly Clarkson, and she joked afterwards that the other coaches never stood a chance. She picked Team Kelly over Adam and Riley.

She joins a team that already includes Kyle Davis, the 61-year-old who turned all four chairs. Read our profile, Who is Kyle Davis?, and see the whole team in our The Voice Season 30 contestants list with photos.

Kavi Nyx’s Music Before The Voice

Kavi released her debut single, “Speak Up”, in April 2026. The song is about finding the courage to speak up for yourself. She is associated with VSharp Gurukulam, a performing arts school in Dallas, and has performed with VSharp the Band.

What Is Next for Kavi Nyx on The Voice?

The Battles are the next test. Each coach pairs two artists from their own team to sing a duet, and the coach picks a winner. Ariana DeBose is the Battle Advisor for Team Kelly, and every coach has one Steal to rescue a losing artist. After the Battles comes Cut Week, which replaces the Knockouts.
