Journey Of Neha Kakkar From Jagratas to Indian Idol
Neha Kakkar began singing at the age of 4 at Jagratas. Although she did not come from a wealthy background, her unstoppable passion and love for singing led her toward success.
Neha Kakkar neither received classical training nor had a mentor to help her on her singing path. But she never allowed anything to hinder her attempts because of her talent, dedication, and skills. She learned to sing independently, and through talent and subsequent experience, she has improved her skill. Her brothers Sonu and Tony Kakkar also served as inspirations for her.
Her consistent efforts helped her to get selected and compete in the 2006 Indian Idol.

Neha got her big break on Indian Idol. In the show’s second season, she participated as a participant. Her abilities and dedication were recognized throughout India. Being one of the contestants, she was quite young and given a chance she needed.

In 2008, she released her debut record, Neha the Rockstar. In the same year, she made her Bollywood debut by lending her voice to the songs for the movie Meerabai Not Out. She joined the chorus of the Blue theme song, which was written by none other than A.R. Rahman, the very next year.
Neha has also performed for local music organizations. Her performance in the Kannada movie Thamassu earned her a nomination for “Best Female Playback Singer” at the prestigious Filmfare Awards South.
Her song “Second Hand Jawaani” from the film Cocktail was another milestone that contributed to her ascent to popularity. She sang as a playback singer for three well-known films in 2014.
She and renowned rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh collaborated on the song “Sunny Sunny” from the film Yaariyan. Neha also sang “Manali Trance,” a popular party tune by The Shaukeens. She further collaborated with Amit Trivedi on the song “London Thumakda” from the movie Queen.
At this point, Neha was well-known in the Bollywood music industry. Nearly every fan of popular music praised her voice in “Kala Chashma” from the film Baar Baar Dekho. Quickly after its release, the song became a standard party hit.
With more than 1 billion views on YouTube, “Mile ho Tum,” the 2016 song she sang with Tony Kakkar, is regarded as the most popular Bollywood song. She also provided the voice for several remakes of well-known Bollywood tunes.
