Sony has not yet officially announced the release of the second part of Morbius. It doesn’t seem they will announce it anytime soon. Morbius had a great opening weekend, but it underperformed at the box office, taking in only $167.5 million worldwide. The movie couldn’t be salvaged, not even by a re-release.
Here, we will discuss all the necessary information regarding Morbius 2. So, let’s begin.
As already mentioned, Morbius 2 has not yet been confirmed. Therefore there is no official release date as of yet.
Since Sony has a busy two years ahead of it with its Marvel projects, beginning on June 2, 2023, with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it isn’t easy to see where the sequel can fit in at this time.
The publication date for Kraven the Hunter, another Spider-Man spin-off, is set for October 6, 2023. In 2024, various dates are set for the publication of El Muerto, Madame Web, and then Kraven the Hunter. Sony also revealed that Venom 3 is on the way.

Morbius 2 probably won’t be released until at least 2024, even if it were to be confirmed.
There haven’t been any formal casting announcements because Morbius 2 hasn’t been made public. However, it can be assumed that Jared Leto will return to the role of Dr. Michael Morbius.
He’ll likely be joined by Adria Arjona, who plays Martine Bancroft, a human who has been turned into a vampire. Dr. Nicholas (Jared Harris) and Milo (Matt Smith) won’t be returning, though, as they were both killed in Morbius.
The comic book character Simon Stroud, played by Tyrese Gibson, and Alberto Rodriguez, played by Al Madrigal, are expected to return. Gibson claimed that Stroud has a three-movie deal, indicating he might appear in later films.
Even if Adrian Toomes isn’t brought back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’ll surely appear in the sequel because Michael Keaton’s character appeared in the Morbius credit sequences.
Two significant storylines that Morbius 2 might continue are Bancroft’s “death” and Vulture’s allusion to the Sinister Six. We are going to start in Martine. To force Morbius into combat with him, Milo kidnaps Martine. In order to leave Martine for Morbius to find, Milo kills her just before he is about to arrive.
Martine must have been drinking from Morbius for her death to “mean something.” Thus it can be assumed that was it for her. After Morbius defeats Milo and kills him with the antibodies he created, we cut back to the rooftop where Martine’s body is found, and she is then seen opening her eyes.
It’s unclear exactly what type of vampire Martine has evolved into. But it foretells trouble for their relationship because Martine suffers a dreadful fate in the comics after Morbius kills her to stop her from biting Spider-Man.
Arjona is curious to see where her character will go in the future, but she is also unsure of what may happen.
Now comes the second important plot point that needs to be addressed. We feel Vulture has more evil motives than the Sinister Six when he advises Morbius in the credits that “a number of us men should band together.”
Morbius doesn’t feature any other well-known antagonists or antiheroes, unlike Venom. It means we don’t know who will be on the bad team in this world.
Wrapping Up
Given the popularity of the first movie and Kraven Hunter’s impending release in his own movie, expect more crossovers in a future Morbius 2. It might be more of a team-up movie than a direct sequel to Morbius, like Captain America: Civil War.
