What Is The Rings of Power Season 3 About?
Prime Video’s official synopsis opens with a simple line: “In Season 3, Middle-earth is at war.” Sauron’s armies have marched across the world and conquered much of what stands in their way.
Only a few places are still holding out. The Dwarves are sealed inside the mountain halls of Khazad-dûm, while the elven realms of Lindon and Rivendell are protected by the Three Rings. Meanwhile Sauron works from his tower of Barad-dûr, obsessed with harnessing the power of the One Ring. The free peoples must unite to stop him before he wins total control of Middle-earth.
The series is set in the Second Age, thousands of years before The Fellowship of the Ring, and draws on material from Tolkien’s appendices. Galadriel’s link to Sauron remains a main thread, and the return of Celeborn adds a personal story to the war.
The Rings of Power Season 3 Trailer
Prime Video released the official trailer on October 21, 2026. It follows a teaser that was shown to fans at San Diego Comic-Con in July. The trailer is action heavy. It shows Middle-earth in chaos as heroes gather to defend their lands, and it also hints at Galadriel’s emotional story alongside the war.
