Dandekar spent her childhood in Australia and she shifted from Sydney to Mumbai in 2002 at the age of 19. She participated in MTV veejay search for finding her dream job. She started her career in the television show MTV’s House of style. In 2003, she made her first debut film, Mumbai Matinee. She was awarded with the best VJ Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female award. She kept her name in the 50 most beautiful women in India Award in 2010. Anushka loves to sing and in the year 2012, her first single song ‘Better than your Ex’ was released.
