What was the Plot of The Black Phone?

The movie plot is set in the year 1978 when the streets of Denver is stalked by a child kidnapper and murderer who is known as The Grabber. Finney and Gwen are siblings who live with their alcoholic and abusive father. The Grabber kidnaps several friends of Finney, and finally, he takes Finney too. He is locked in a basement where he is able to communicate with the spirits of those who are murdered by the Grabber through a disconnected back rotary phone. After a lot of struggle, Finney kills and escapes the Grabber with the help of the spirits. 

The critics revealed that this was a straightforward movie with a clean plot. Considering its success, if at all there is a sequel, the audience expects the movie to be made equally good, if not better than its prequel.
