Netflix’s new series, The Silent Sea, joins the list of most dominating web series and becomes the most-watched web show by the subscribers. The first season of Silent Sea was released on 24th December 2021.
The series features an enthralling and adventurous story of a daring moon mission and ends up being on a perfect thrill ride with most of the characters dying. The 3 survivors left were Doctor Song (Bae DooNa), Doctor Hong (Kim Sun-young), and Luna (Kim Si-A). The Silent Sea is an amazing adaptation of the short film ‘The Sea Tranquility’ that was released in 2014. It was written and directed by Choi-hang-Yong.
The story is based on true events that happen in space where the shortage of food and water is a common problem. In between the crisis, Han Yun Jae (Gong Yoo) and Doctor Song Ji-an (Bae DooNa) travel to the moon to collect samples from an abandoned research station.

Currently, there is no official announcement about The Silent Sea renewal for Season 2. But since, the Silent Sea Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger, so there is a high chance that the Silent Sea will return for the second season. Since it requires more work than an average series, you might be able to see a second season in 2023. The production may start early 2022 as per the sources.
About the cast, fans will have to bid goodbye to captain Han (Gong Yoo) as he died while saving Luna (Kim Shi-Ah). The heroic center of the drama is performed well by Han, and he will be missed in the second season.
Besides Gong Yoo, fans could see Doctor Song (Bae Doo na), who was saved by Luna from the toxic element.

The second installment will be more exciting as Luna and two survivors of space decide to return to the earth. The story will depict how Luna will learn about her own existence and defy the vital forces. Dr. Song will work like a motherly figure for Luna, and the plot of the second season will majorly focus on Luna’s superpowers. Besides her powers, the show will focus on how Luna saves mankind from the lack of water plaguing.
Earth will suffer due to scarcity of water, and it might be possible that lunar water might elevate the problem. The ending of season 1 was a mystery in itself. Fans have been eagerly waiting for The Silent Sea season 2 and it will be interesting to know what happens next.
