What Is Season 2 About?

Netflix’s official description begins with Sophie and Margo on the outs, and it asks whether they are the hunters or the hunted. Beyond that, the story is under wraps. Rebecca Cutter, who runs the show, has said the new season will be darker and more dramatic, and that her goal is at least four seasons.

Season 1 Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this section reveals the end of season 1.

Season 1 follows Sophie, a newcomer to a small Texas town, as she is pulled into a circle of wealthy women led by Margo. A young woman named Abby is shot, and Sophie, whose newly bought hunting gun was the weapon, becomes the prime suspect. Sophie works out that Margo pulled the trigger after a fight over Abby’s boyfriend, who had been involved with Margo.

The finale also leaves a body behind. Margo’s brother Kyle dies in a confrontation with Sophie, and she gets rid of his body. The season ends on a cliffhanger: while Sophie is hiding what happened, Margo phones Kyle’s number, Sophie answers without a word, and Margo realizes who is on the line.

The show changes the book’s ending. In May Cobb’s novel, Jill is the one who kills Abby, not Margo.

How Big Was Season 1?

The Hunting Wives spent five weeks on Netflix’s global Top 10 for English-language TV after its July 21, 2025 debut, and was the most-streamed series in the US for a time. Starz had originally ordered it, but Netflix picked it up before the premiere, and it stays a Netflix series.

Where to Watch The Hunting Wives

Season 1 is on Netflix, and season 2 will be too. Until season 2 arrives on November 26, season 1 is the best way to catch up.
