The Dallas brothers finished last at the first Pit Stop after losing time at the Detour. Erin and Javi won the leg after using their Express Pass at the first Roadblock, a leap from the rafters of BC Place to catch a salmon.
The sisters from Kentucky were the last team to check in at the Pit Stop in Madrid and were eliminated, which left 11 teams.
Episode 3 sent the teams from Spain to Morocco and ended on a cliffhanger. Doug and Dylan and Jody and Jenn were racing each other to the Pit Stop when a “To Be Continued” card appeared, so the outcome comes in Episode 4 on Wednesday, October 14. Dafina and Saran found the new Roadside Assistance advantage, which was hidden in a clue inside one of the Roadblock’s pottery jugs.
For the first time in the show’s history, 13 Express Passes are in play at once. Each team receives one at the starting line in Vancouver, and it must be used by the end of Leg 6. Only one pass can be used at each Roadblock or Detour, so teams have to choose their moment. Dafina and Saran, for example, used theirs at the Leg 1 Detour, which also blocked other teams from skipping it.
Ali is a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion with the U.S. women’s national team, and Joanna also played professionally and for the national team. They race as professional athletes and moms.
Ann-Marie is a healthcare executive and her daughter Riley is a marine officer. They race as a mother and daughter from Indiana and California.
Anuar is a developer and his daughter Andrea is a medical student. The father and daughter are from Houston.
Cody is a civil engineer and his sister Jaime is a dietitian. The siblings are from Los Angeles and the Chicago area.
Childhood friends Conner and Garrett are both 27 and are from Loomis and Rocklin, California. Conner is a media producer and Garrett is an engineer.
Sisters and best friends from Chicago, Dafina is a bond analyst and DJ and Saran is a personal trainer who founded Kids Leading Kids. They used an Express Pass at the Leg 1 Detour and found the new Roadside Assistance advantage in Leg 3.
Daisha and Dalton are a dating couple from Alabama, and both work as videographers.
Doug, a retired fire chief, is the oldest racer at 73, and his grandson Dylan is the youngest at 19. The pair are from San Diego.
Erin is head of human resources and her husband Javi is a pilot. The couple from Fort Lauderdale won Leg 1 after using their Express Pass at the first Roadblock.
Jody is a history teacher and Jenn is a forensic scientist, and the two moms are best friends from Connecticut and New York.
Sisters Katie and Charlotte are both estheticians from Murray, Kentucky. They were eliminated in Leg 2 in Madrid.
Michelle owns an auto body shop and works in real estate, and her husband Matthew is a business operations director. The married parents are from Rutherford, New Jersey.
Brothers from Dallas, Zach is a car salesman and co-founder of Pipley and Nate is a director of sales. They were eliminated in Leg 1 in Vancouver.
