Dark Winds, a television series based on the works of Anthony Grove Hillerman, has become the current fixation for fans of complicated crimes and psychological thrillers.

The TV show, which is set in the Southwest in the 1970s, centers on two detectives named Leaphorn and Chee who must face their pasts and faith in order to solve a puzzling double murder case. 

In Dark Winds, witchcraft and psychological tension are combined with a traditional detective story to depict the drama that is taking place in the Navajo Nation. Season 1’s strange happenings, theft, and cliff-hanger finale left many TV viewers clamouring for more.

The Release Date of Dark Winds Season 2:

Friends, good news! The release of Dark Winds season 2 is unquestionably scheduled for 2023. But we’re not precisely sure when the show will premiere on our little screens. 

There will be a total of six episodes in the second season. If production proceeds in a manner similar to that of season 1, we predict that season 2 will probably air in June or July 2023.

The Plot of Dark Winds Season 2:

We witnessed a lot of disclosures and even violence in the first season of Dark Winds. Although we don’t yet have an official synopsis for Dark Winds season 2, we can start to speculate about what the next chapter will entail thanks to some delicious season 1 cliff-hangers.

Whitover was exposed as a seasoned con artist who was seeking the Buffalo society for his share of the spoils rather than bringing them to justice. Furthermore, it emerges that Chee was moved to the reservation in order to serve as Whitover’s scapegoat. In other words, the promotion and raise were all forgeries.

Whitover, however, was murdered by Guy, foiling his elaborate plot. Bernadette and Chee then helped cover up the murder by carrying Whitover’s body and the stolen money into a cave and detonating it there. 

It is safe to assume that Chee will rejoin the force in season 2 in order to wrap up the unfinished investigation. There is still Nakai somewhere. More narratives will undoubtedly be introduced, too. The authors of Dark Winds season 2 will have plenty of sources of inspiration since the show is based on Anthony Grove Hillerman’s literary series Leaphorn & Chee, which consists of a total of 18 books.

We are certain that Zahn McClarnon will reprise his role as Joe Leaphorn and that Kiowa Gordon will play Jim Chee.

Since Nakai isn’t really gone—as we already stated—we anticipate seeing Eugene Brave Rock as Frank in the upcoming episodes as well.
