Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Ending Explained – Will There be a Volume 4?

Before Volume 3 of the movie could be released, the makers revealed that this was the final film on the Guardians of the Galaxy Trilogy. This put the fans into thinking that one of the members of the team would be dead. However, the makers gave us all a happy ending!!… All the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy return safely. 

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 – Ending Explained

Star Lord almost suffocates to death in space, but Adam Warlock, who has many powers, saves him. The team saves Rocket, and he reunites them to fight against the antagonist to save the day. However, most team members decide to part ways from the Guardians of the Galaxy. Star Lord decides that he wants to return to Earth to his grandfather. Mantis wants to explore the cosmos and find her own special place in the galaxy. She takes the Abilisks with her, too. Drax and Nebula decide to rebuild Knowhere, and Nebula vows to lead the settlement. Drax also decided to take care of the children that he rescued from the High Evolutionary. 

Gamora (alternate timeline version) stays with the Ravagers. Groot and Rocket are the only two people left on the team. Even though it looks as if the team was disbanded, Star Lord gifts Rocket the Zune players and declares him to be the new leader of Guardians of Galaxy. 

In the credits, we get to see a dry alien planet, and the new team of Guardians in uniforms – Rocket Racoon, Cosmo, Kraglin, Groot, Phyla, and Adam Warlock are now the new team!

Will there be a Volume 4 of Guardians of the Galaxy?

Till now, Marvel hasn’t yet revealed about plans to make Guardians of Galaxy Volume 4. Even Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista have publicly announced that this movie marks their departure from the franchise. However, Marvel could potentially produce a sequel on Rocket’s fresh team. If a movie is made, it will definitely bear a fresh title.

However, the movie also concluded with the title “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return.” The hint has left the fans speculating whether it will be in a solo Disney+ venture, an Avengers instalment, or another sequel within the Guardians franchise.
